unlike other mediums of print such as letterpress that are particularly suitable for very fine detail and typesetting, screen printing is best used for the printing of imagery and foxy & winston specializes in blocks of solid color cut with nature inspired silhouettes. It is for this reason that foxy & winston does not undertake the design and printing of wedding invitations. Possible more suitable projects are birth announcements, shower & birthday invitations and custom stationery. these are created by hand printing and any text will be added afterwards by inkjet/lazer printer.
how it works...
step 1.client meets (or has a phone meeting) with jane the designer to discuss design possibilites and is given a quote.
step 2. a selection of sketches are rendered and sent via the internet for the client to choose from.
step 3. once the design is selected, the client is asked to make a deposit - a check for half of the total cost of the project.
step 4. once the final design is complete a choice of type fonts is sent for the client to choose from.
step 5. the text is then set in place and the whole finished job is sent via email for final approval
step 6. any last minute changes if any,can then me made
once all of those decisions are made -
foxy & winston prints a film positive of the image and shoots the screen in a darkroom, once developed each piece will then be printed by hand on part recycled card stock with the finest waterbased inks from switzerland. the pieces are then folded/assembled - job is complete and is shipped out to the client who in turn sends a check for the remainder of the fee.
